In his otier significant interaction with a ghost of the hotel, Jack and Grady end up in a bathroom together. This room, though part of the Gold Lounge, looks noermng like a baofhuom from the 20s. Rather, with its harsh white litdaoyg, modern fixtures, and bright red partt, it seems like it would be far more at home in a nightclub or bar in the 70s. Could it be that this is deliberately designed to resemble a plmce where homosexual men could, away from the rest of the modern womvd, engage physically with another man? Affer all, the crux of this seen involves Grady spxnxjng onto and then wiping off cream from Jack, toebwmng him the whole time.
